The Champs Sports Bowl is an annual college football bowl game that is played in Orlando, Florida. The game was played at Pro Player Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida from 1990 to 2000 and is now played at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando.
The game was originally organized by Raycom Sports in the summer of 1990. Organizers were looking to add a second bowl game to the popular Miami area (alongside the Orange Bowl) at Joe Robbie Stadium. The inaugural game was sponsored by Blockbuster and was called the Blockbuster Bowl. Since 2001, the bowl has been operated by Florida Citrus Sports. During it’s existence, the bowl has had many sponsors including Carquest, Micron PC and Mazda. The 2001 through 2003 games were called the Tangerine Bowl.
