Bobby Scott

New Jersey Generals

Bobby Scott led the University of Tennessee to the 1971 Sugar Bowl where they defeated the Air Force Academy. He was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in round 14 of the 1971draft. He played for the Saints from 1973 though 1981 as a back-up to Archie Manning. Scott signed with the New Jersey Generals in 1983 and quarterbacked them in the first 12 games of the franchise’s history.

By late April, he was second in interceptions thrown and had been sacked more times, 28, than any other USFL quarterback. He was traded to the Chicago Blitz before the end of that first season. For the Generals and Blitz in 1983, he completed 210 of 374 passes for 2813 yards and 11 touchdowns.
